Highlights

More reliable large PDF imports

PDFs with invalid bookmark coordinates can finish importing. Uploads use dedicated Storage connections and retry transient failures. Imported pages publish their extracted text together, and drawing organization starts once the required pages are ready.

Use drawings while specifications finish

The editor opens when drawings are ready and reports specification progress separately. A failed specification no longer prevents access to completed drawings.

Place and reshape measurements

Sketch rectangles, polygons, polylines, and ellipses have improved typed placement and editing. Area and volume measurements support clearer quantity displays and editable cutouts.

Fixes worth naming

Opening a sheet during the initial project transition no longer leaves the editor stuck on its loading screen.
Drawing-index groups with the same heading are combined. Sheet-title extraction better preserves numeric suffixes and can read gated title blocks with vision.
Sheet fitting waits for the outline to settle, and ellipse and rectangle previews retain their intended shapes.
API requests reuse a signed, recently verified session identity while retaining permission checks and session verification as a fallback.

Upgrade notes

CI applies migrations 092_import_range_text_publish.sql and 093_grouping_starts_once.sql before deploying production. Both are already applied in dev.
Set IMPORT_RANGE_WORKERS=1 in the production Modal layr-pipeline secret for the temporary reliability workaround, matching the verified dev setting. Redeploy workers before retrying failed imports.
Retry the failed document through the existing import retry operation; completed documents and their pages are retained.
The title-block vision role uses the configured Claude Haiku model. No new required authentication secret is introduced.

Known limits

Parallel database publication can still exceed query deadlines under load. The single-worker override is a temporary workaround, not the permanent concurrency fix.
The override limits batches per document, not total simultaneous imports across the environment.
The customer PDF verification covered all 1,042 Volume III pages on the first attempt with one worker; it is not a multi-project load test.
